I only translate documents related to my areas of specialization in particular and business in general. There is typically some overlap between the business and legal fields, but my background does not qualify me to translate genuine legal documents. If I am unavailable or do not consider myself qualified to handle the source material, I will be happy to recommend one of my colleagues.

Translations provided for non-agencies are always proofread externally prior to delivery at no extra charge. Documents provided in PDF format must first be converted to an editable format such as MS Word before they can be translated. PDF conversions must be carefully reviewed for spelling errors resulting from the conversion process and the formatting of the conversion often has to be adjusted to match that of the original document if so desired, both of which can be time-intensive depending on the length of the text and complexity of the underlying formatting as well as the clarity of the text on the page (in particular with faxes). As a result, this extra service may be charged on an hourly basis similar to editing/proofreading. I work closely with a number of independent colleagues and can assemble a small team of first-rate translators if necessary. In addition, I am generally available on weekends and for rush jobs, although additional fees may apply.
